Every person is entitled to know the law, to represent him/herself in any court of law, or to engage a legal practitioner. Every person has a right to be aware and know the provisions of the Constitution. In fact the general principle of law is that ignorance of the law is no defence. The full enjoyment of this fundamental right is enhanced by one’s knowledge of one’s basic legal rights and obligations regarding the substantive rights and the processes of enforcing those rights.
This is the purpose of this course- TO ENHANCE, EMPOWER AND EQUIP YOU WITH BASIC LEGAL LITERACY AND COGNITION SKILLS.
